2) What was useful in helping you to understand a specific concept?

and this one of my classmate answer for this questions it may help you:

Three main constitutive approaches to organizational communication:
The Montreal School- texts have agency. Texts do something to humans that is not reducible to certain human interactions and human actions. Answers questions about the ontology of the organization.
McPhee?s Four Flows- focus is on the content of communication during the constitution process and what specific flows need to occur in order for organizing to take place. Membership negotiation (communication is relevant to becoming and maintaining org membership), self-structuring (norms, standards, and rules), activity coordination (ongoing interaction to get work done), and institutional positioning (communication with the larger environment that helps to position it with other organizations).
Luhmann?s Theory- core element is communication. Social systems are systems of communication, and society is the most encompassing social system. In addition, communication within a system operates by selecting only a limited amount of all information available outside.
I think that the reading on constitutive approaches really helped me to understand specific concepts in this chapter. For example, going in depth about the four flows helped you to understand McPhee?s general approach in a more seamless way.
For the future, I would provide a video lecture for this chapter and perhaps a YouTube video that demonstrates each approach. Some people learn better through visuals.
