The writter is basically just putting themselves in my shoes and writting about being on placement in the nursery and talking about what skills they learnt and how it can be effective for no or in the future.and go into more details.in the file ive written in red what they should include and they should also make up a scenario on them.they can make it up but it has to be in the nursery. i need this done forthursday please. thanks
DATE – Today was my first day at Cherubs day Nursery. The manager introduced me to all the staff and showed me around the nursery. I was able to build a relationship with the preschool children and got to know what activities they were into so at game time I was able to play the actives with them if another member of staff wasn’t available to play with them. I also gained more understanding on how to approach and interact with them which will be effective for me in the future in case I ever go into profession that involves working with children or have my own.
DATE – Today, I was with the preschool kids again. Although I did learn a lot from my first day I still was not as confident with the kids which made me nervous. I learnt how to work under pressure and I learnt that I work best under pressure because it removes the thoughts that are not relevant and focusing on what has to be done.
DATE – Today i was working with some new members of staff that were on placement too. I used my great my communication skills to interact with the new members of staff to make them feel confrotbale. Although I am new to the nursery myself I was able to answer my team mates questions by telling them the things i learnt from when i started as some of the members of staff were not available to answer the questions. One of my team mates had bad hearing which was sometimes a problem when trying to communicate with her because i couldn’t talk to her on the same level as everyone else. To communicate effectively with her we had to raise our voice a little louder and also keep repeating ourselves which was sometimes annoying. To make it easier to the team member to understand us, we had to talk slowly, loud and clear.
DATE – Today all the staff had a meeting. The manager held the meeting whilst the children were having their nap so it would be quieter. In the meeting we discussed changes that needed to be done in the nursery. We and used our listening skills to hear out people’s ideas before we all contributed our ideas. As a team we all made sure that nobody felt left out and that we all got involved by getting our opinions across. I gained more understanding on how important team work is as it can make a lot of changes and gets the job done quicker. Gaining more understanding about team work will help me in the future because working as a team, im much more likely to perform well.
DATE- Today, the nursery was short of staff due to some staff being ill because of the cold weather. This was stressful because there was a lot of children and a lot of things had to be done such as helping the children make Christmas cards. We were all put into teams and decided among ourselves which task we were each going to do. We used our great team work skills and communication skills to set ourselves targets to achieve for the end of the day. Some staff refused to work as a team because the job they wanted to do wasn’t available to them. This was a barrier that occurred whilst working as a team because of the communication skills and this caused conflict. Being in this situation taught me how solved problems effectively by using my good communication skills. This is very effective for me in the future incase conflict arises at my workplace; I would know how to handle it.

DATE- today was the day of the children’s Christmas play. Mostof the children were nervous and were crying before the play even started. DATE- today was the first time the children could go outside to play in the cold weather. Some of the children didt want to play outside and some did. We decided as a team to spilt ourselves into 2 groups, 1 group supervises the children when their playing outside and the other stays indoor with the children that want to stay inside and set up activities with the.TALK ABOUT THE SKILLS YOU LEARNT AND HOW IT CAN BE EFFECTIVE FOR NOW OR THE FUTURE.

DATE – today we had another meeting with the manager and the area manager about the OFSTED investigation being in. We discussed a few things that the inspectors picked up on such as the room door being left open when he children can escape. DATE – Today i experienced being in the kitchen of the nursery helping serve the food when the cook finished her shift. Because the nursery were still short on staff i had to keep checking on the food that was still cooking and also clened up the kitchen and washed up all the dishes at the end. DATE – today me and my team helped put the children to sleep after their meal. Someof the children didn’t want to sleep and were making noise and because of this, the other children couldn’t sleep because of the noise. WHAT DID YOU DO? DATE – today one of the team members were serving the children grapes and oranges. They chopped up the grapes in half so the children cant choke on them. DATE – Today when we served the children their dinner, the children are suppost to watch their hands before they eat for personal hygiene. We found out that some of the children that were sent to the toilers to wash their hands didn’t really wash their hands and this was because there wasn’t a member of staff watching the children outside the bathroom. DATE – today we were put in groups to do activites with the children.we decided among ourselves which activity which person is going to do. 1 of the team members refused to play in the sand with the children because she didn’t want to get her nails ruined. DATE- Today when i was working with the pre school children,one of the children admitted that a family member hit them which is child abuse. WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS? WHAT DID YOU DO? DATE – Today we decided to open the concervatory for the babies to play in. The concervatory has a ball pit and more toys in theire for them to play with but its been closed for a while becuawe of the shortage of staff to watch them in there and also the broken heater. As a group we decided who was going to look after the children in each room and take turns after an hour.
